FRIDAY RULES

1/24th Class 1: Vintage Sports/G.T. up to 1968. (Hard Body & 36.D) This class is aimed at trying to race cars as they were intended by the manufacturers - i.e. Cox body with Cox chassis etc. Brands allowed are Revell/Monogram/Cox/AMT only. Cars must be a scale representation of a real vehicle up to 1968 (no thingies or handling bodies) Hard bodies only. We would prefer vintage slot bodies but model kits will be tolerated within reason (e.g. Revell model on a Revell chassis, etc) Cars must be decorated with a racing livery (made up ones are fine) Chassis must be from the listed manufacturer and not be modified. (rattle plates are allowed). Running gear must be pre-1972 or similar. 36.D size standard motors only. Rubber or Ortmann tyres. No silicone, foam or sponge. No additives. Please pay particular attention to ground clearance, wheels and tyres. These MUST be to scale (width, diameter and aspect ratio) As we wish to ensure the racing stays as primarily scale racing, we will control this last point much more closely than we have in the past. If you turn up with a vintage car that doesn't quite fit the class, we will of course let you race but your name will not appear in the results.

1/24th Class 2: Vintage F.1/Indycars up to 1968 Cars must be a scale representation of a real vehicle up to 1968 (no thingies or handling bodies) Bodies can be hard material or vac formed. Either vintage bodies or model kits. No modern slot or resin bodies, please. Cars must be decorated with a racing livery (made up ones are fine) Any vintage or pre-1972 chassis from large manufacturer - in line only. Chassis can be modified/improved but no complete scratchbuilts. Running gear must be pre-1972 or similar. Motors must be standard vintage pre-1972. No rewinds or modern motors. Rubber or Ortmann tyres. No silicone, foam or sponge. No additives. Please pay particular attention to ground clearance, wheels and tyres. These MUST be to scale (width, diameter and aspect ratio) As we wish to ensure the racing stays as primarily scale racing, we will control this last point much more closely than we have in the past. (Cars from Class 1 are allowed.) Either vintage bodies or model kits No modern slot or resin bodies please. Cars must be decorated with a racing livery (made up ones are fine) Any vintage or pre-1972 chassis from large manufacturer - in line only. Chassis can be modified/improved but no complete scratchbuilts. Running gear must be pre-1972 or similar. Motor must be standard vintage pre-1972. No rewinds or modern motors. Rubber or Ortmann tyres. No silicone, foam or sponge. No additives. Please pay particular attention to ground clearance, wheels and tyres. 1/32nd Saloon Cars Cars should be 1/32nd scale, four-seater. European, Japanese or American manufactured saloon and hatchback cars, pre-1976. No G.T. or L.M. sports cars and no Group 5 or DTM sillhouette cars. No U.S. built cars. Cars do not have to be recognised racing machines but should be presented either in plain road car or period racing livery. (Try to avoid rally liveries) Hard bodies only - e.g. rigid plastic, resin, glassfibre, wood but no lexan or flexible vac formed bodies please.) Guide assembly and wheels/tyres should not be visible when the car is viewed from directly above with the guide centralised. In all cases where wide arches are used proof of them on the real car may be required. Chassis can be from any material but can only have a maximum of two hinged parts including a drop arm if used. Class 1 - Small saloons: Max. wheelbase 70mm; max. body width 50mm; max. body length 120mm and max. track 43mm. Tyres - min. diameter 13mm front & rear; Max. tyre contact patch width 9mm. Class 1 - Large saloons: Max. wheelbase 80mm; max. body width including arches 60mm; max. body length 145mm. Tyres - min. diameter 15mm front & rear; Max. tyre contact patch width 9mm. All cars to have a minimum ground clearance between the axle lines of 1mm.

Retro Le Mans / Can-Am Prototypes and Sports Cars that have participated at Le Mans or other World Sports Car Championship races or the Can-Am Championship up to December 31st 1967. e.g. Sebring, Daytona, Mille Miglia, Targa Florio, Nurburgring, Goodwood. Scratch Class: Cars should be hard bodied; plastic, resin, wood etc. No Lexan or Vac Formed bodies please. Scratch cars should be 1/32nd scale, + / - 2mm on length, width, wheelbase and track. Ground clearance between the wheelbase - 1.5mm minimum. Rubber or Ortmann tyres - no sponge or silicone. Tyres MUST be dry ay each race start. Min. tyre width 5mm - max. tyre width 9.5mm. Min. overall wheel & tyre diameter 18mm. Wheels should have inserts sympathetic to the period / vehicle. Chassis can be from any material but can only have a maximum of two hinged parts including a drop arm if used. Guides / tyres should not be visible from above. No flared wheel arches unless fitted to the real car, in which case proof may be required. We will use the 1968 Model Scrutineer's Guide for minensions - any car not in there will require documented proof of dimensions. Ready-to-run Class: The ready-to-run class should be strictly as they come out of the box. (They do not need to comply with the dimension rules except for tyres.) You may glue in bearings and motors and fit lead or similar weights within the body. Tyres only, not wheels, may be replaced with another brand but must comply with the scratch tyre dimensions. Period repaint and decals are allowed. Any other modifications including tune-up parts from the same manufacturer will result in the car being classed as a scratch entry. Scalex F.1 U.K. or French Scalex only. 1968 to 1978.    Racing guide. Standard car with Johnson 111 motor - apart from Ortmann tyres, direct replacement only. Front axle can either be fixed or have minimum travel. Up to 1977 no Brabham BT49 or Williams FW07. No other change to the car permitted.

Mabuchi 18000 rpm black endbell motor - (PSRAC4) Any wheels to scale with suitable period inserts. Any tyres except silicone and sponge. Any gearing axles and guide. Run at 12 volts. Any body from the list can be used but nothing else. (These are all production cars.)
